Go Where God Tells You To Go

The saying, “Go where you’re celebrated, not where you’re tolerated.” is popular. I’ve even used it myself. As I think about it though, it’s poor counsel. Jesus went both places, according to the Father’s will. In some places, He was celebrated and in other places, He was simply tolerated. Yet He was assigned to both places.

You too will have seasons and/or assignments in both places. Not everyone will celebrate you where you’re called, yet you need to complete your assignment rather than leave it and go where you’re “celebrated.” You can be celebrated by the wrong people in the wrong place for the wrong reasons. Don’t govern your path by how people respond to you, but by obedience to God’s will. Instead of “Go where you’re celebrated, not where you’re tolerated,” let’s follow Jesus’ example and “Go where God calls you to go.”
